Teams

A locally recruited forward from Ascot Vale, Bob Drummond announced his arrival at Essendon in 1943 with an explosive start, booting four goals on debut against Carlton followed by a five-goal haul against Collingwood the very next week. Despite possessing a strong pair of hands and natural goal sense, his time at Windy Hill was heavily disrupted by persistent leg injuries and the difficulty of breaking into a powerhouse Bombers lineup entering a golden era. Seeking greater opportunity, he crossed to North Melbourne in 1946, but fitness issues ultimately curtailed his senior career after just one season at Arden Street. While his playing days were brief, Drummond remained a dedicated servant of the game long after his retirement, serving on the League Tribunal for thirteen years and later presiding over the Essendon Past Players Association.
