Bio
Recruited from the Victorian amateur side Collegians, Bob Gluyas made an immediate impact upon his arrival at Essendon in 1957. The capable forward produced a sharp start to his VFL career, booting four goals on debut against St Kilda followed by a haul of five majors against North Melbourne the following week. Despite sitting near the top of the league goalkicking table after just two rounds, he struggled to maintain that prolific output and managed only seven more senior appearances over two seasons. His brief tenure at Windy Hill concluded at the end of 1958, leaving behind a record of high potential that was never fully realised at the senior level.
