Bio
Recruited to Fitzroy as a teenager, Bob Hayton broke into the senior side midway through the 1965 season. Standing 175cm, he was a small forward and rover who managed to hit the scoreboard immediately, booting two goals across his brief two-game VFL career. He was unable to cement a regular spot in the Lions' lineup and left the league shortly after his debut season. While his on-field contribution was fleeting, Hayton later established a unique legacy in the sporting world as a high-profile international auctioneer, famously holding the gavel for player drafts and auctions in major competitions such as the Hockey India League and the Pro Kabaddi League.
