Bio
Recruited from Scotch College, Bob Keddie developed into a stylish and consistent half-forward flanker during a golden era for the Hawthorn Football Club. While often playing in the shadow of the legendary Peter Hudson, Keddie was a formidable scorer in his own right, possessing strong hands and a reliable left foot that helped him secure the club's Best and Fairest award in both 1967 and 1969.
Keddie's name is permanently etched in Hawthorn history due to his performance in the 1971 Grand Final against St Kilda. With the Hawks trailing at the final break and Hudson struggling with concussion, coach John Kennedy shifted Keddie to full-forward, where he booted four goals in the final quarter to steal the premiership. Surprisingly, he left the VFL at the peak of his powers just a year later, moving to South Australia to captain-coach South Adelaide, concluding his time at Glenferrie Oval with 132 games and a reputation as a match-winner.
