Bio
Recruited from Bentleigh, Bob Langford was a physically imposing big man who rose rapidly through Melbourne's grades to debut as a teenager. Standing 188cm and weighing nearly 100kg—a massive frame for the 1960s—he was utilized primarily as a ruckman and key forward, capable of using his bulk to impact contests. After fast-tracking from the Under-19s to play the final two games of the 1966 season, he added just one more senior appearance the following year against St Kilda. Unable to break out of the reserves in 1968, he eventually departed the VFL to join Waverley in the VFA.
