Bio
Recruited from Hampton Scouts, Bob Morton was a talented dual sportsman who represented the Victorian Colts in cricket while carving out a VFL career as a key forward. Standing 189cm, he was a reliable avenue to goal for St Kilda, with his time at Moorabbin peaking when he was named 19th man for the 1965 Grand Final against Essendon. Despite playing on the big stage, Morton's career is often remembered for a stroke of misfortune; he missed the entire 1966 season due to injury, cruelly watching on as his teammates secured the club's first premiership. Unable to force his way back into the senior lineup, he departed for the Bendigo Football League, where he became a dominant figure for South Bendigo and booted over 100 goals in the 1968 season.
