Hailing from South Warrnambool, Bob Nisbet made the journey to Melbourne in 1958 alongside teammate Ron Hoy to try his luck in the VFL. While Hoy returned to the bush after just one game, Nisbet lingered at Glenferrie Oval for two seasons, proving to be a handy avenue to goal with 15 majors from his 16 senior appearances. He played his football during the final years of Jack Hale's tenure, just missing the transformative John Kennedy era that began the following season. After leaving the Hawks, Nisbet found significant success in the VFA with Mordialloc, where he won a club best and fairest and served as vice-captain, eventually transitioning into coaching and leading Mount Waverley to a premiership in the South East Suburban League.
