Bio
Recruited from local side Richmond CYMS, Bob O'Neill was a ruck-rover who worked his way into the senior side to become a key component of the 1927 Grand Final team. After playing in the muddy premiership decider against Collingwood, his career at the top level was derailed during the 1928 finals series when he suffered a severe head injury that required hospitalisation. He sat out the entire 1929 season before crossing to the VFA, where he immediately featured in Oakleigh's inaugural premiership side. O'Neill returned to Punt Road briefly as a playing coach for the reserves in 1931 before finishing his career with Camberwell and eventually retiring to South Australia.
