Bio
Recruited from South Ballarat via Broken Hill, Bob Rahilly followed an unconventional path to the VFL that included representing New South Wales at the 1908 Melbourne Carnival. Standing just 170cm, the small forward spent three seasons at Fitzroy where he established a durable if frustrating league record by hitting the goal post four times in a single match against St Kilda in 1911. He departed the Maroons to spend the 1913 season travelling between clubs in Ballarat, Broken Hill, and the SANFL with Sturt, before resurfacing for a brief two-game cameo with Essendon the following year. Rahilly eventually moved on to Northcote in the VFA, closing the book on his football journey shortly before enlisting to serve in France during World War I.
