Stats
Bio
Recruited from the Footscray District League, Bob Reid was a towering forward who provided a focal point for the Bulldogs' attack in the immediate post-war years. Standing 188cm—a massive height for that era—he possessed the physical attributes of a ruckman but did his best work inside the forward 50, using his superior reach to outmark smaller defenders. Reid enjoyed an impressive debut season in 1948, booting 25 goals and holding his place in the side for the semi-final clash against Collingwood at the MCG. Despite that promising start, he struggled to sustain his form into the following season, managing just three senior appearances in 1949 before his brief VFL career came to a close.
