Bio
Recruited from the bayside suburb of Mordialloc, Bob Roberts was a serviceable half-back flanker who experienced a brief but memorable stint with Fitzroy during the early 1950s. Standing 179cm, he was often utilised as a defensive utility but found himself on the fringe of senior selection for much of his career, frequently oscillating between the reserves and the firsts. His most significant contribution to the club came during the 1952 season; despite struggling to hold his spot late in the home-and-away campaign, he was recalled for the high-stakes finals series, featuring in both the Semi Final victory over Carlton and the Preliminary Final loss to Collingwood. After missing the entire 1953 season, Roberts returned for a final handful of games in 1954 before departing the VFL scene with 30 matches to his name.
