Bio
Recruited from University Blues in the VAFA, Bob Stewart joined Melbourne during a difficult transitional phase following the club's golden era of the 1950s and early 1960s. A defender, Stewart broke into the senior side in 1966 and played 17 games over two seasons, primarily operating in the backline as the Demons attempted to rebuild under Norm Smith. While he did not establish a long-term tenure at VFL level, departing the club at the end of 1967, Stewart later forged a significant career as a renowned academic and author in the field of sport management and policy.
