Bio
Born in the Free Territory of Trieste, Bob Svorinich was a recruit from Altona High School who added a touch of international flavour to South Melbourne's list in the late 1960s. A capable half-forward standing 180cm, he debuted as a teenager in 1969 and displayed genuine goal sense, averaging nearly a major per game during his brief tenure. However, he found it difficult to secure a regular berth in Norm Smith's senior side, spending much of his time on the fringe of selection while battling for opportunities in the forward line. Svorinich ultimately managed just eight games across three seasons at the Lakeside Oval before departing the VFL landscape at the conclusion of the 1971 season.
