Bio
Recruited from the Williamstown Methodists, Bob Templeton was a fringe forward who played a stop-start career for Footscray in the immediate post-war era. He struggled to cement a permanent spot in the senior lineup, managing his appearances sporadically across two distinct stints at the Western Oval between 1947 and 1953. While he was unable to break into the team for the club's eventual premiership run, Templeton's true mark on the game was left off the field as a giant of regional football administration. Upon relocating to western Victoria, he served as president of the Hamilton Football Club and the Western Border Football League, ultimately dedicating nearly 50 years to the game as a director of the Victorian Country Football League (VCFL).
