Bio
Recruited from Echuca in the Bendigo Football League, Bob Vagg joined Hawthorn with strong credentials after winning the 1963 Michelsen Medal as the league's best and fairest player. A solid defender, he earned immediate selection for the Hawks, debuting in Round 1 of the 1964 season and featuring in three of the first four matches. However, injuries hampered his progress at VFL level, and he was unable to retain his place in the senior side beyond his debut year. Vagg ultimately returned to Echuca, where he forged a distinguished career as a country football stalwart, playing over 200 games for the club.
