Bio
Recruited directly from University High School, Bobby Clark broke into the VFL ranks as a precociously young talent for Footscray. He made his senior debut in the 1957 season at just 16 years of age, standing only 173cm and playing as a diminutive rover. While his schoolboy agility earned him a fast-tracked start, the lightweight teenager faced a significant physical disadvantage against seasoned bodies and struggled to command a regular spot in a side led by the legendary Ted Whitten. Clark managed four games in his debut year and a solitary appearance in 1958, eventually departing the Western Oval with five games to his name and the distinction of being one of the club's youngest-ever debutants.
