Bio
Recruited from the West Australian Goldfields, Bobby Mullenger arrived at South Melbourne with promise but saw his VFL career severely curtailed by the outbreak of World War II. After making his debut in the opening round of the 1939 season, the forward's momentum was halted by his enlistment in the RAAF, leading to a six-year hiatus from top-level football. Mullenger eventually returned to the club in 1946 to add five senior appearances to his tally, but the long interruption prevented him from establishing a permanent foothold in the Swans' lineup before he departed the league.
