Recruited from the North Melbourne Juniors, Bobby Scott was a pacy wingman and half-forward who added speed to Richmond's lineup during the club’s formative VFL years. He made his senior debut in the opening round of the 1910 season against South Melbourne, quickly demonstrating an ability to hit the scoreboard with seven goals from his limited opportunities at the top level. Despite showing promise as a fleet-footed option in attack, Scott found it difficult to cement a permanent spot in the Tigers' starting 18, appearing sporadically across two seasons at Punt Road. Following his stint in the VFL, he transferred to the Association to continue his career with Essendon (VFA).
