Bio
Recruited from the Geelong Falcons with the seventh pick in the 1996 National Draft, Bowen Lockwood was a talented key forward who became a significant "what if" story in Port Adelaide's history. As a mobile tall capable of taking strong contested marks and converting from range, he showed immediate promise during the Power's formative years, appearing destined to form a lethal long-term partnership with Warren Tredrea. However, Lockwood's career was dismantled by a chronic back condition, specifically a prolapsed disc that required surgery and ultimately restricted his movement and durability. Despite his immense potential and a solid return of goals when fit, the persistent injury forced him to retire at just 24 years of age, denying him a place in the club's emerging premiership era.
