Teams

Recruited from North Adelaide with a late selection in the 2018 National Draft, Boyd Woodcock arrived at Port Adelaide as a crafty small forward known for his goal sense and links to fellow draftee Connor Rozee. Although he broke into the Power lineup during the disrupted 2020 season and showed promise with his clean hands and agility, he struggled to command a permanent place in a premiership-contending forward line and was delisted after three seasons. Rather than fading away, Woodcock moved to Queensland to play for the Southport Sharks, where he reinvented himself as a prolific ball-winning midfielder. Since his transition to the VFL, he has established himself as one of the premier players outside the AFL system, claiming a club Best and Fairest and finishing as a runner-up in the J.J. Liston Trophy on multiple occasions while consistently pushing for a professional lifeline.
