Stats
Bio
Recruited from Perth in the WAFL, Brad Fox was a solidly built key defender taken by Essendon with pick 12 in the 1988 National Draft. Despite his high draft billing, he was forced to bide his time in the reserves for two seasons before breaking into Kevin Sheedy's senior side in 1991. His stint at Windy Hill is most famously remembered for a brutal encounter in Round 1, 1992, where he was choked to the point of near-unconsciousness in a headlock by St Kilda superstar Tony Lockett. Fox’s career trajectory took a bizarre turn in 1993; after being delisted and re-drafted by the Bombers in the pre-season, he was cut a second time mid-year, only to receive an immediate lifeline from Richmond in the 1993 Mid-Season Draft. He played four games for the Tigers as a defensive reinforcement before finishing his AFL career to captain-coach Gisborne to a premiership in the Bendigo Football League.
