Bio
Recruited from VFA powerhouse Coburg, Brad Nimmo was a strong-bodied key defender who initially trained with Essendon but found his path to senior football blocked at Windy Hill. Crossing to North Melbourne to chase greater opportunity, the 190cm backman made his debut in 1982 and was utilized as a defensive anchor capable of matching up on opposing tall forwards. While he managed 13 senior appearances over two seasons at Arden Street, he struggled to command a regular spot in the starting 18 and spent his final year at the elite level on Sydney's list in 1984 without adding to his game tally. Nimmo ultimately found his greatest success upon returning to the VFA, where he solidified his status as a club legend at Coburg by captaining the Lions to back-to-back premierships in the late 1980s and earning selection at centre half-back in their Team of the Century.
