Bio
Recruited from the Preston Knights, Brad Oborne arrived at Collingwood as a father-son selection in the 1998 National Draft, following in the footsteps of his father Rod who played 87 games for the club. A crafty left-footed forward pocket with a natural instinct for the goals, Oborne showed immediate promise in his debut season, most notably booting three majors against the Brisbane Lions at the Gabba. Despite that eye-catching performance and his tidy disposal, he struggled to find consistency at the senior level and added just one game to his tally in 2000 under new coach Mick Malthouse. Unable to break into a developing Magpies lineup, he was delisted at the end of his second season, leaving the club with a brief but memorable glimpse of his finishing ability.
