Bio
Recruited from the Wagga Tigers, Brad Seymour was a significant New South Wales zoning success story for the Sydney Swans, making his debut in 1994 as a teenager. He established himself as a disciplined defender, capable of playing on key forwards or acting as an interceptor, relying on strong spoiling and defensive accountability rather than offensive rebound. His reliability saw him become a mainstay in the backline during the club's resurgence under Rodney Eade, playing a vital structural role in the side that reached the 1996 Grand Final.
Seymour's career trajectory was significantly hampered by injuries, most notably a knee reconstruction that forced him to miss the entire 1999 season. While he returned to play senior football in the early 2000s, persistent physical issues eventually limited his continuity in the senior side. He retired at the conclusion of the 2003 season after a decade at the SCG, departing as a Life Member and a respected clubman who helped stabilise the Swans' defence during their transition into a consistent finals outfit.
