Bio
Recruited from the Oakleigh Chargers with pick 56 in the 1997 National Draft, Brad Stephens faced the formidable challenge of breaking into North Melbourne's midfield during the club's premiership window. He spent his first two seasons developing in the reserves as the Kangaroos claimed the 1999 flag, eventually earning a senior debut in Round 18, 2000 against Collingwood. A reliable ball-winner who worked hard around the contest, Stephens retained his place for a second match against Fremantle the following week but struggled to command a permanent spot in Denis Pagan's experienced lineup. He was delisted at the end of the 2000 season, concluding his brief AFL tenure with two games before continuing his career at the state league level.
