Bio
Brady Wright stormed onto the AFL draft radar with a spectacular 2026 VFL campaign for Werribee, capped by winning the Fothergill-Round-Mitchell Medal as the competition's most promising young player. Originally a prospect with the Ballarat Rebels, Wright refined his craft at community level with Darley before joining Werribee ahead of the 2025 season. The mature-aged late bloomer thrived under the mentorship of VFL stalwart Hudson Garoni to become a premier state league spearhead. He earned Team of the Year honours and dominated with several massive goal hauls, producing standout performances against Essendon and Footscray.
At 195cm, Wright is a ready-made, hit-up key forward who boasts a clean goalkicking routine, smart leading patterns and strong aerial ability. He established himself as a prominent marking target inside 50 during the home-and-away season and is praised by scouts for his unselfish, team-first attitude. Having interviewed with multiple clubs and attended the State Draft Combine, the Werribee star is widely expected to be selected in the National Draft.
