Bio
A mature-age recruit who took the long road to the elite level, Brandon Ryan was plucked from the Northern Bullants in the 2023 Mid-Season Draft by Hawthorn. Standing 200cm, the key forward displayed strong hands and goal sense in a promising three-game cameo for the Hawks, highlighted by a three-goal haul against eventual premiers Collingwood. His time at Waverley was cut short in a surprise move during the 2023 trade period, where he was sent to Brisbane to facilitate the return of club legend Jack Gunston to Hawthorn. Ryan spent two seasons at the Lions offering structural depth to a star-studded forward line, though opportunities at senior level proved scarce behind established talls Joe Daniher and Eric Hipwood.
