Bio
Recruited from the Northern Knights with pick 20 in the 2015 National Draft, Brayden Fiorini teased elite potential early in his career, notably gathering 32 disposals and two goals in his debut match. A prolific left-footed accumulator, he established himself as a reliable link player between the arcs, enjoying a breakout season in 2019 where he became a key component of the Suns' midfield. However, his decade-long tenure on the Gold Coast was defined by a constant battle for selection continuity. Despite his proven ability to find the football, he frequently found himself squeezed out of the club's developing engine room, often repurposed as a defensive half-forward or utilised as the tactical substitute under successive coaches.
After 123 games and enduring several seasons on the selection fringe, Fiorini parted ways with the Suns to join Essendon ahead of the 2026 season. The move represented a fresh start for the veteran midfielder, who had often been the subject of trade speculation due to the disparity between his ball-winning output and his standing in the Suns' best 22. Now in the red and black, Fiorini offers experienced depth and a high work rate, looking to cement a permanent midfield role that often eluded him during his time in Queensland.
