Bio
Recruited as a mature-age rookie from East Perth, Brendan Lee arrived at Essendon after establishing himself as one of the WAFL's most consistent midfielders. A prolific ball-winner with a relentless work rate, Lee overcame concerns about his leg speed to earn a spot on the Bombers' list with pick 78 in the 2012 Rookie Draft. He spent the majority of his time with VFL affiliate Bendigo, where his dominant form saw him win the Nick Carter Medal as the club's best and fairest. His persistence was rewarded with an elevation to the senior side late in the 2012 season, managing two games before being delisted. He returned to West Australia to captain the Royals, though his career was later impacted by the Essendon supplements saga, resulting in a season-long suspension in 2016.
