Stats
Bio
A promising left-footed rover recruited from Pines on the Mornington Peninsula, Brendan Moore broke into the Essendon side as a teenager late in the 1987 season. Despite his obvious talent and dedication—often commuting long distances from Frankston to train at Windy Hill—he struggled to cement a regular spot in Kevin Sheedy's powerful midfield rotation, managing just seven senior games over four seasons. While he was a consistent performer in the reserves, winning the Best Team Man award in 1990, he was eventually delisted and returned to state-league football where he forged a significant legacy. Moore became a standout player in the VFA (later VFL) with Frankston, where he captained the Dolphins, won two club Best and Fairest awards, and claimed back-to-back Frank Johnson Medals as the best player in VFL representative football, eventually earning selection in the MPNFL Team of the Century.
