Bio
Born in Traralgon but forging his reputation in the West, Brendon Bermingham was a powerful, heavy-set utility who became a key figure in a golden era for the Claremont Football Club. Recruited from Mines Rovers in the Goldfields, he established himself as a big-game player for the Tigers, featuring in their 1938 premiership side and booting two goals in the 1939 Grand Final victory over East Fremantle. His brief VFL career was a product of the Second World War; arriving in Melbourne during 1944, the 30-year-old was one of many interstate servicemen to fill the depleted ranks of Victorian clubs. Bermingham played eight games for St Kilda as a wartime recruit, adding experienced bulk to the lineup before eventually returning to Western Australia, where he lived out his days in the Great Southern region.
