Bio
Recruited from South Mildura via the Bendigo Pioneers, Brent Frewen holds a unique place in football history as the final player ever selected by the Fitzroy Football Club, taken with pick four in the 1996 Pre-Season Draft. A raw, developing ruckman standing 195cm, he was thrust into senior football during the Lions' tumultuous final year, managing two games as the historic club struggled for survival. Following Fitzroy's merger with Brisbane, Frewen received a lifeline from Richmond, who selected him late in the 1996 National Draft. Despite spending the 1997 season at Punt Road, he was unable to break into the Tigers' senior lineup and was delisted at the end of the year, concluding his career as a young talent caught in the volatility of the league's rationalisation period.
