Bio
Recruited from the Geelong Falcons with the second overall selection in the 1996 National Draft, Brent Grgic arrived at Melbourne carrying the heavy burden of high expectations. A skilled midfielder capable of finding the football and using it efficiently on the outside, he struggled to establish consistent form throughout his time with the Demons, though he did feature in the club's 2000 Grand Final loss to Essendon. After falling down the pecking order at Melbourne, he was traded to Geelong ahead of the 2002 season in exchange for pick 55, a move intended to reignite his career in his home region. However, Grgic could not recapture his junior promise at the Cats, managing just a handful of senior appearances over two seasons before being delisted at the age of 24.
