Bio
Recruited from Epping, Brent Heaver is best remembered as a dangerous small forward who burst onto the AFL scene with a five-goal debut for Melbourne against Carlton in 1990. Despite this electrifying start, he struggled to maintain his place at the Demons and was delisted after just two seasons, eventually finding a lifeline at Carlton via the 1992 mid-season draft. Heaver played his best football with the Blues, particularly in 1993 when he booted 48 goals and played in the Grand Final loss to Essendon. Unfortunately, a broken leg late in 1994 stalled his momentum, and he was unable to force his way back into the senior side for the club's dominant 1995 premiership campaign. Heaver was subsequently traded to Port Adelaide for their inaugural AFL season in 1997, where he provided veteran experience to the fledgling list before retiring at the end of 1998.
