Bio
A prolific goal-kicker from Swan Districts, Brent Hutton arrived at the West Coast Eagles with a reputation as one of the WAFL's most dangerous forwards. A local Bassendean product, he had already etched his name into state league history by winning the Bernie Naylor Medal in 1984 and booting five majors in that year's Grand Final victory. His transition to the national stage in 1988 coincided with the appointment of his former Swans mentor John Todd, but the 185cm spearhead found it difficult to replicate his scoring power against the stronger defences of the VFL. Often playing as an undersized key forward, Hutton drifted in and out of the senior side over two seasons, managing just nine goals from 13 appearances. He was delisted at the end of 1989 and returned to Swan Districts, where he immediately cemented his legacy by playing a key role in their 1990 premiership triumph.
