Bio
Recruited from Tongala in the Goulburn Valley, Brent Jones was a ruckman and utility player who joined Melbourne as the club entered a difficult transition period following the legendary Norm Smith era. While he possessed the height to compete in the ruck, Jones largely served as a depth player, managing 45 games over six seasons without ever fully securing a regular spot in the starting lineup. He often filled gaps in the key posts when injuries struck the senior list, contributing sporadically on the scoreboard with just five career goals. Jones remained with the Demons until the end of the 1971 season, after which his VFL career concluded as the club looked to reshape its list for the 1970s.
