Bio
Recruited from Norwood in the SANFL, Brenton Klaebe was a tough, close-checking defender whose AFL career was significantly hampered by injury. Selected by Fitzroy with pick 31 in the 1988 National Draft, his arrival at the club was delayed by two years, during which he missed the 1989 season with injury and played the 1990 season in South Australia. He finally joined the Lions in Melbourne for the 1991 season, where he managed five senior appearances as an aggressive backman. However, persistent back and knee problems prevented him from sustaining a spot in the side, and he returned to the SANFL the following year before finishing his playing days in the amateur leagues.
