Bio
Recruited from Chelsea, Brett Bowey was a diminutive but skilled rover and small forward who played for St Kilda during the late 1980s and early 1990s. Capable of hitting the scoreboard, he maintained a handy strike rate near a goal a game while roving at the feet of dominant forwards at Moorabbin. Despite his talent, he battled to secure a permanent position in the senior lineup over his eight seasons, eventually finishing with 85 games before departing the club in 1995. In later years, his contribution to the game extended to the next generation as the father of Melbourne premiership defender Jake Bowey.
