Stats
Bio
Recruited from Balmoral in western Victoria, Brett Gloury was a talented junior tall who earned All-Australian selection at the 1985 Teal Cup. He faced a baptism of fire upon his senior debut in Round 1, 1986, where the 17-year-old was tasked with minding Essendon giant Paul Salmon; the significant size mismatch saw Salmon dominate the first quarter, prompting a swift tactical change. Gloury was swung forward the following week against Sydney, registering three behinds, but the 193cm prospect struggled to command a permanent key position spot at Victoria Park. Although his senior opportunities were limited to four appearances across two seasons, he was a member of the Magpies' 1986 Under-19s premiership side before eventually returning to country football, where he later featured in a flag with Kangaroo Flat in the Bendigo Football League.
