Bio
Recruited from South Fremantle with pick 100 in the 1989 National Draft, Brett Hungerford crossed the Nullarbor to join a Geelong squad coming off a Grand Final appearance. Facing the difficult task of breaking into Malcolm Blight's star-studded lineup, the West Australian found opportunities scarce at Kardinia Park, managing just two senior appearances during his debut 1990 season. He struggled to bypass the club's established stars to secure a regular role and spent the majority of his tenure in the reserves. Hungerford remained on the list for the 1991 season but failed to add to his game tally, ultimately departing the VFL/AFL system as a depth player who could not crack a premiership-contending side.
