Bio
Recruited from Tasmania, Brett Spinks was a powerfully built key forward who joined West Coast during the club's dominant mid-1990s era. Despite his physical presence and ability to impact the scoreboard, he found it difficult to command a regular spot in an Eagles attack spearheaded by Peter Sumich and Jason Ball. Seeking greater opportunities, Spinks was traded to Geelong ahead of the 1998 season, where the club was attempting to restructure its forward line following the retirement of Gary Ablett. While he made an immediate impression with a strong debut for the Cats, his form tapered off as the season progressed, leading to his delisting after just one year at Kardinia Park.
