Bio
Recruited from Williamstown Rovers, Brian Barclay was a tall defender who established himself in the Fitzroy lineup during the late 1950s. Standing 188cm, he provided significant height and structural stability to the Lions' backline, often tasked with curbing opposition key forwards. Although he wasn't always a guaranteed starter in a competitive squad, he served as a reliable defensive option during a strong era for the club, featuring regularly as Fitzroy challenged for finals in 1958 and 1960. He remained a contributor at Brunswick Street for six seasons before his VFL career concluded at the end of 1962.
