Bio
Brian Cahill was a versatile forward who burst onto the scene for North Melbourne as a teenager in the late 1950s. Making his debut in 1958 at just 19 years of age, he immediately established himself in the senior side, playing 19 games and booting nine goals in a promising rookie campaign. Standing 184cm, Cahill had the size to play as a marking target or a flanker, but after his breakout first season, he struggled to command a regular spot in the Shinboners' lineup. He managed just four more senior appearances over the next three years before departing Arden Street. Cahill subsequently moved to the VFA, where he found greater continuity and success as a key position player, notably lining up at full-forward for Brunswick.
