Bio
Recruited from Montmorency within Collingwood’s metropolitan zone, Cole was a half-back flanker who briefly broke into the Magpies' senior lineup during the fiercely competitive Tom Hafey era. He made his debut late in the memorable 1977 season, appearing in a Round 19 victory over St Kilda, but found it difficult to secure a permanent place in a squad destined for that year's Grand Final. After managing just one more senior appearance early in the 1978 season against South Melbourne, he departed Victoria Park midway through the year to return to his home club. While his time at the top level was short-lived, he later forged a significant reputation in local football circles, serving as a long-time coach for Montmorency and eventually leading Healesville to a premiership.
