Teams

Recruited from McKinnon, Brian Dunsford graduated from the thirds to break into Melbourne's powerful lineup during the height of the Norm Smith dynasty in 1957. Though he missed out on the Grand Final side in a premiership year, he holds a unique distinction in Demons history as the player with the most career games never to experience a loss, enjoying a perfect 7-0 record. His time at the top level was cut short by his pursuit of a professional athletics career—he was later a favourite for the Stawell Gift—and despite a move to North Melbourne in 1959, he never added to his tally of VFL games.
