Bio
Recruited from Dandenong, Brian Lambert was a diminutive rover and forward pocket who stood just 166cm. Joining Hawthorn during a difficult era for the club, the 18-year-old showed immediate promise in front of goal after breaking into the senior side in the middle of the 1949 season. He managed to boot five goals in his five appearances—a respectable return for a teenager in a struggling lineup—but his lack of size likely hindered a longer tenure at the top level. Lambert drifted out of the VFL almost as quickly as he arrived, remaining a footnote in the club's post-war rebuilding phase.
