Bio
Recruited from the Cheltenham Football Club, Brian Leary earned a brief call-up to the VFL during Hawthorn's struggling 1950 season. A mid-sized player standing 175cm, he broke into the senior side shortly after turning 20, making his debut against North Melbourne. Leary held his place for the following round’s fixture against Melbourne but was unable to cement a permanent role in the lineup. His career at Glenferrie Oval was ultimately limited to just those two mid-season appearances before he departed the League, a fleeting figure during a period when the Hawks were enduring a difficult run near the foot of the ladder.
