Bio
Recruited from Caulfield Grammar, Brian Milnes arrived at the Junction Oval as a tall 183cm utility capable of filling key posts. He broke into the St Kilda senior side in 1952 but struggled to cement a permanent spot during a difficult era for the club, managing 22 appearances across four seasons as he drifted in and out of the lineup. While his on-field career was brief, Milnes remained a dedicated clubman long after his playing days concluded. He was a pivotal figure in the club's administration, notably working alongside teammate Brian Muir to resurrect the Saints’ Past Players and Officials Association, ensuring the club maintained a strong connection with its history. His family legacy at the elite level continued decades later through his grandson, Jordan Lisle, who played for Hawthorn and the Brisbane Lions.
