Bio
Recruited from the Apple Isle, Pilcher was a solidly built utility who joined Richmond after tasting premiership success with Burnie in the NWFU. Arriving at Punt Road in early 1957, he presented an imposing physical figure—weighing over 90kg despite standing just 180cm—but found it difficult to cement a permanent place in the Tigers' senior lineup, managing just nine appearances across two seasons. After departing the VFL, he carved out a respectable tenure in the Association, first with Oakleigh and later with Dandenong, where he became a premiership player in 1962. He eventually transitioned to country football, finishing his career as a captain-coach for Mooroopna in the Goulburn Valley.
