Bio
Recruited from Warrandyte in the Eastern Football League, Brian Tomlinson was a defensive-minded player who earned his opportunity with South Melbourne during the early 1960s. Standing 180cm, he was a sturdy competitor capable of holding his own in the back half, breaking into the senior lineup for 15 games across the 1961 and 1962 seasons. He failed to trouble the scorers during his brief stint at the Lake Oval, typifying the role of a no-nonsense backman focused on containment rather than attacking flair.
